She lets the hand bearing her own flame drift a bit to take in where they are now. "I was raised in the Fire Nation after all. Most of our military is fire benders."
"Pretty standard," he says. "Those're kind of the basics where I come from, too, though..." He taps his chin. "Earth magic is actually more uncommon," he says. "Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, and Aero are the standard elementals, and then there's the restorative magicks: Cure, Esuna, and so on." He laughs and shakes his head. "I'm not so good at those, I'll admit."
He grins widely then.
"The Fire Nation, huh? Sounds like my kind'a place," he chuckles. "That's cool that it's like a military tactic," he says. "Magic is kind of a down-low skill most places, where I'm from. Like it's used in battle, sure, but most people in most places aren't even aware that it exists, let alone that they might be capable of doing it. A lot of people don't even believe in it."
