Axel's never really given too much thought to magic being irrational or not, though; it just is, and utilizing it has made his life easier, so he's not complaining.

"So, ah... didn't actually catch your name, there, chum," he points out, and if the stranger actively doesn't want to disclose, he won't press, but for the moment he's not certain it wasn't just an oversight.
