Turning around, Axel holds his flame up and heads back down the hallway he had just come from. Maybe there's another corridor they can try. They walk for a few minutes in quiet, and then Axel peers down at his unlikely companion.

"So, what sort of place do you come from?" he asks after the silence starts to bother him, his tone benign. "I've met some people who resemble you a bit, while I was traveling for work. I wonder if I've been to your world..."

Ducks and mice and dogs don't look like raccoons, sure, but they're walking upright and speaking words, so that counts as resemblance, right? He's just trying to make conversation.
